Welcome to Bentham Research. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, benchmark leaderboards, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.
1. Platform Access and Use
Bentham Research provides evaluations and training datasets for humanistic reasoning in frontier AI models. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform for your personal, non-commercial, or internal educational use.
You agree to access and use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
2. Intellectual Property and Licensing
Platform Content
All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, leaderboard metrics, designs, and software, is the property of Bentham Research or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
Dataset Licensing
The public leaderboard metrics are available for informational and citation purposes. However, our core evaluation datasets, held-out benchmarks, and expert training data (such as RLHF and adversarial training pairs) are proprietary.
Any commercial use, fine-tuning, or model-training on Bentham datasets requires an explicit commercial license from us. Standard web scrapers or AI crawlers are strictly prohibited from scraping data from the Platform for training purposes without our written consent.
3. Domain Expert Contributor Terms
If you apply and are accepted into our verified domain expert network, the following terms apply to your contributions (e.g., questions, reviews, annotations):
- You represent that all contributions are your own original work and do not infringe on any third-party rights.
- You agree to participate in our peer-review and academic quality assurance pipelines in good faith.
- You grant Bentham Research a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and distribute your contributions in connection with our benchmarking and dataset products, subject to the attribution settings specified in your domain expert profile.
4. User Accounts and Security
If you create an account on our Platform, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
- Using any automated system, including scrapers or spiders, to access the Platform or extract data.
- Attempting to interfere with, compromise the system integrity, or decrypt any transmissions.
- Conducting reverse-engineering, adversarial red-teaming of models hosted on the Platform (except as explicitly permitted by the research program), or benchmark contamination.
- Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your affiliation with any academic or corporate entity.
6. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers
The Platform is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Bentham Research makes no warranties or representations, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or availability of the evaluation scores or benchmark datasets.
In no event shall Bentham Research, its founders, directors, or contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform.
7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
